Casio appears to have accidentally revealed its highly anticipated G-Shock GAC-2500 and GMC-2500 series, giving fans an early look at what could be one of the brand’s most interesting new releases of 2026. The watches are expected to officially launch in November 2026, with nine models briefly appearing on Casio Japan’s website.
Dubbed the “CasioNaut” by enthusiasts, the new 2500 series takes inspiration from the unmistakable shape of luxury sports watches while giving it the unmistakable G-Shock treatment. The design combines a bold octagonal bezel with a sophisticated full-analog display, creating a watch that looks equally at home on the street or dressed up for the evening.
A Fresh Take on the G-Shock Design
The new collection will be offered in both lightweight resin and metal-covered versions. The GAC-2500 features a resin case and band, while the GMC-2500 adds a stainless-steel bezel. For those who prefer an all-metal feel, the GMC-2500D pairs the stainless-steel bezel with a stainless-steel bracelet.
The lineup includes nine models in total, ranging from understated black and silver to olive green, white, yellow, gold, and blue accents.
Packed With Practical Features
Underneath the stylish exterior is Casio's new Module 5757, bringing a surprisingly comprehensive set of functions to the 2500 series.
The watches feature a full analog display, a 0–60 subdial, date display, stopwatch functionality, hand-shift capability, and manual hand/date alignment. The stopwatch measures in 1-second increments up to 30 minutes, with elapsed minutes displayed through the date indicator.
One particularly interesting feature is “Second Hand Sleep.” When activated, the second hand stays fixed at the 30-second position to help conserve battery power. Casio says this can extend battery life from approximately 2 years to around 5 years.
There’s also an LED dial light, while the watch runs on a CR1025 battery.
Nine Models, Three Different Styles
The GAC-2500 measures 46.7 × 44.5 × 12.7 mm and weighs just 47 grams, making it the lightest option in the collection.
The GMC-2500 comes in at 46.7 × 43.8 × 12.9 mm and weighs 68 grams, while the stainless-steel-bracelet GMC-2500D weighs a more substantial 138 grams.
The initial lineup is expected to include:
GAC-2500: Black, olive green, white, and yellow
GMC-2500: Silver/black, silver/white, and gold IP
GMC-2500D: Silver/black and silver/blue
Prices are expected to start around $185 for the GAC-2500, $345 for the GMC-2500, and $445 for the GMC-2500D, with the gold IP GMC-2500 expected to cost around $355.
